As much as I love being calm and settled, I think I do some of my best writing while travelling. My two most recently published stories were both written while I was travelling, so there's something to be said for writing and travel. I think that the act of physically moving (or being moved) helps me boost my creativity somehow. My Favourite Authors
So I have a lot of favourite authors. Similar to how I like to read just about anything - this apparently makes me difficult to buy books for, though I'd assume it's the opposite - I like various authors for different reasons, and they'll often write in very different ways. My Writing Routine
A lot of writers have a specific routine for writing. You may even have one. Some writers are infamous for their writing routines, such as Stephen King's 2000 words a day, or Haruki Murakami, who wakes up at 4am - yes, willingly - and writers for several hours until he decides to run 10km or swim 1500 metres.
